Homemade almond butter

Use this nutritious spread on sandwiches, with oatmeal, when making soups, dips and sauces, or to enrich your desserts with beautiful texture and flavor.

iCook products used:

  1. 30cm Non-Stick Fry Pan with Lid

Ingredients:

  1. 300 g almonds (or other nuts you like)

  2. 1 tbsp. almond or grapeseed oil

  3. Optional flavourings: cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla, coconut sugar, raw cacao, etc.

Preparation method:

  1. Spread the almonds in a single layer in a dry pan and toast them over medium-heat, stirring them frequently, until they are fragrant and golden brown. Let them cool slightly.

  2. Put the almonds into a blender and blend them for 1 minute until it turns into a coarse almond meal. Scrape the sides of the blender and let it cool for 10 minutes.

  3. Blend the almonds for 1 more minute into a fine almond meal. Scrape and cool for 10 minutes.

  4. Repeat the blending, scraping and cooling sequence 3–5 more times or until you have a creamy almond paste. Add the oil as you go along.

  5. Add desired flavourings and blend it once more to ensure even distribution.
