If you have to make one dietary goal, make it this

Nutrition & Wellbeing

Eat better protein!

It’s the start of a new year and perhaps you’re making it a goal to become more conscious of your eating habits and wellbeing in general. Living a healthy lifestyle requires forming good, solid habits – even if you have to start small. The important thing is that habit is key. One way to help you stick to your resolution all the way to 2019 and beyond is to pick a quantifiable goal that’s small and easy enough to achieve on day one. Now do it every day, and by the end of the year you’ll see it’s become a second-nature habit!

So here’s one challenge we are going to make for your body’s overall wellbeing: incorporate more protein in your diet. Now take it a step further and find a daily, quantifiable target, such as adding one spoonful of NUTRILITETM All Plant Protein to your diet each day.

First of all, though, why is protein important? Protein plays a major role in your body’s overall functions. It helps you maintain lean body mass and sustain energy, and it satiates hunger. You are on a diet and reducing food quantities? Make sure you keep consuming enough proteins to maintain and tone your muscles while losing weight. Your hair and nails are mostly made of protein. Your body uses protein to build and repair muscle tissue, which is important for recovering after you work out. It also uses protein to produce hormones. Protein can be found in your bones, muscles, cartilage, skin and blood. As you can see, your body depends on protein.

Ideally, we should be able to get a sufficient amount of protein from the foods we eat. Some protein-rich foods include seafood, poultry, eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, beans and soy. But either we don’t consume enough protein or not the right ones. The quality of the source of protein is a very important point to consider. Only take the best for your body! That’s why NUTRILITE scientists came up with All Plant Protein, a convenient way to boost your protein intake.

You can add this fine, flavourless powder to beverages, foods or batters without compromising taste. Each 10 gram serving contains 8 grams of protein. It’s suitable for vegans or vegetarians and is dairy-, lactose- and cholesterol-free, with less than one gram of fat per serving. You can bake with it, cook with it or sprinkle it on raw.

Make protein a part of your 2018 goals. Try a spoonful of NUTRILITE All Plant Protein to form the habit first, and then adapt to your needs to get the full benefits. Healthy habits require dedication, and we’ll be cheering you on all the way!
