Get the Geisha look

Try out three new looks from the ARTISTRY STUDIO Tokyo Edition and match the beauty of a Japanese cherry blossom in full bloom

Tokyo is an international city full of charm and character that goes well beyond top ski slopes and scrumptious sushi. The city’s unique aesthetic appeal sets it apart from anywhere else on the globe. With a rich history of geishas, theatre (kabuki), quirky trinkets and distinctive fashion, such as the harujuku style, Tokyo is the ideal place to gain inspiration for a new look. Its buzzing nightlife, exemplified by the main shopping area, Ginza, and the hub of youth culture, Shibuya, is pervaded with a constant pulsing energy.

Sakura inspiration

No time of year holds more excitement than the spring cherry blossom season, known as “sakura” in Japanese. With its own festival, and flocks of tourists flooding to the city to experience its beauty, this is without a doubt an exceptional occasion.

The exciting new ARTISTRY STUDIO™ Tokyo Edition honours this beautiful time of year, by allowing you to recreate the feel of the Japanese cherry blossom season at home. So, don a kimono, create a cherry blossom backdrop, stock your makeup bag with products and you’re good to go!

Our favourite Tokyo looks

Look 2: Bold look

This look places the focus on the eyes, with a statement green eyeliner to accentuate the geisha look.

  1. Start with the Correct & Perfect Face Compact Shibuya of your choice, then apply some Oh-So-Cheeky Blusher Kimono Coral to rouge the cheeks.

  2. Use the rose pink (shade 4) from the Eye & Lip Beauty Box Kabuki Glam on your lips and create edgy eyebrows with the Power Brow Pen Ginza Chai Latte.

  3. For the eyes, spread the bright green (shade 1) from the Eye & Lip Beauty Box Kabuki Pop across the eyelid, then use the finest tip of the sponge brush to draw the darker green (shade 2) along the eyeline and draw a cat eye flick from the edge of the eye towards the eyebrow

  4. Top it off with the Lash Boosting 3-in-1 Mascara to frame your eyes and really make them pop.

TIP: To ensure you have a perfectly straight and even eye flick, attach a post-it note from the corner of the eye to the eyebrow to and draw above it.

Look 3: Anime pop look

Be bold, be blue with this attention-grabbing look. With pastel pinks and purples to lay the groundwork, the blue mascara stands out to give you a fun, fresh and fierce look for the cherry blossom season.

  1. Apply the same base as for looks 1 and 2 and cheer up your cheeks with Oh-So-Cheeky Blusher Kimono Pink.

  2. Use the pastel pink (shade 3) from the Eye & Lip Beauty Box Kabuki Pop for the entire lid and apply the purple (shade 4) across the lower lid.

  3. Combine the watermelon and cerise pinks for the lips and of course apply the star feature, the Oh-So-Colorful Mascara Harajuku Blue.
